2008 SA-MP World Cup Results

NB came out victorious today (once again) in a league created by 90NINE. Below is a bracket that I have created showing a breakdown of all of the matches that led up to this point.

An attack and defend mode that was made specifically for this league can still be found on our server at 84.16.234.167:9900. Thanks to mabako for hosting!

NB marks another win on the scoreboard

That's right, NB is still on top of its game and doing what it does best:

We'd like to thank the Prodigies for a very fun and friendly match.

I realize there's still a bit of confusion over exactly what happened regarding the beta leak, and I'd like to take this opportunity to address that now.

Allow me to start by saying that we did not “hack” the SA-MP forums. Someone who makes such a hasty observation obviously has no comprehension of just how secure a standalone Simple Machines Forum installation really is. Secondly, only three members of NB actually played it. The SA-MP team's disregard of this fact—which includes banning loads of innocent people—prompted the larger leak.

NB as a whole is not responsible. That is a logical fallacy. The SA-MP team and its religious followers can continue ban us from their silly “support forums” and IRC channels, but it will not prevent us from playing the game.

Besides, I still wonder why anyone continues to listen to kyeman after this little fiasco:

Evidently, we were far from the first ones to upset him.

Grand Theft Auto IV Multiplayer

Its final, not only will gta4 release with a multiplayer but details on the gametypes/modes are slowly emerging. So far the following details have been circulating...

  • Altogether there are 15 multiplayer modes in the game.
  • Up to 16 players in multiplayer is supported.
  • The multiplayer modes are:
    1. Hangman's NOOSE
    2. Car Jack City
    3. Bomb da Base
    4. Bomb da Base II
    5. Mafia Work
    6. Team Mafia Work
    7. Deathmatch
    8. Team Deathmatch
    9. Turf War
    10. Cops 'n Crooks
    11. Race
    12. GTA Race
    13. Deal Breaker
    14. Free Mode
    15. Unknown
  • You can choose from a vast variety of online characters, all customizable by way of race, sex, hair, clothing etc.
  • In the modes Race and GTA Race, the host decides which vehicles are involved, as well as the number of laps.
  • The same applies for Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch, where the host decides over the amount of pedestrians, vehicle traffic, the intervention of police, and type of weapons to choose from.
  • In the mode Cops 'n Crooks, one team plays as cops, while the other criminals. As you'd expect, the cops must stop the criminals from escaping. The cops has an added advantage of monitoring the position of the criminals on their GPS's, the criminals have no such option available.
  • In Mafia Work and Team Mafia Work, you play as one of Kenny Petrovic's mafia henchmen. Complete assassinations (given over phone) before other players in the game to score points.
  • Hangman's NOOSE involves you and other players escorting a mobster, while being pursued by SWAT.

In other news, welcome to our new members NyO, H0UM155 and eM ))

and despite all the recent drama that has caused a few setbacks one thing you should know is that [NB] will never die, we will just go to hell and re-group.

A little update on our hectic IRC situation

Okay, we're truly sorry that the word didn't get here earlier that we ditched GTANet's IRC server about a week ago, but we've been having so much fun on GameSurge that we totally forgot to make an announcement on the front page about it. To clear up any misconceptions, we thought that the best course of action at this point would be to simply include a little backstory as to why #nbcave was shut down for the third and final time (my outlook on the situation is bleak because “The GTANet staff are bored of [us]”) by none other than our friendly neighborhood network admin Luke.

What's that, you don't know who Luke is? Well, he's an interesting fellow. He's also gay. No, really, he is. I was there when he first came out on IRC. Ever since then, he has worked strenuously to improve GTANet's discrimination policies, and he enforces them with an iron fist. Oh, don't tell me some guy is posting porn links in a channel that's hidden from public listing. The staff doesn't care about that! Everything is A-OK as long as the channel is kept away from minors who surf GTANet for cheap thrills and free porn (hey, I know what I'm talking about, because I'm paraphrasing the rules page here), but if you see the same guy carrying on a conversation in that channel with even a hint of homophobia in his language, you can count on Luke whacking him around with a ban stick before he even knew what hit him.

I know you're asking yourself, “now what does this have to do with NB?” Well, okay, I was actually describing what several of us had to go through after discovering that the homophobia police was scanning through our chat logs with a fine-toothed comb on a daily basis. See, that's our dilemma—we're a very discriminatory crowd (just ask Eva), so we decided to move to a more friendly network that doesn't have IRCops that sit in private channels all day and G-line people for insulting a person's shoe size, hair color, or even sexual orientation.

If you're an idiot and none of this made any sense to you, we can now be found on irc.gamesurge.net/nbcave. All are invited—but remember, glitching and bug abusing is allowed, and if you can't stand flaming, then this is not the channel for you.

    Au revoir!
